This painting is a contemporary homage to Francisco Pradilla Ortiz and a reinterpretation of La Rendición de Granada (The Surrender of Granada), reimagining the Moors’ handover of Granada to Ferdinand and Isabella as a sweeping, cinematic tableau. Rich costumes, crisp detail, and saturated color amplify the drama of the scene, casting the victors in luminous tones while the defeated recede into cooler, darker shadows. Through this contrast of light and hue, the work explores the uneasy tension between triumph and loss.
